Inserts - Self Tapping - For Plastics - Stainless SteelStainless Steel For Plastics Self Tapping Inserts. Threaded inserts are screwed into preformed or predrilled holes and cut own threads into the wall of permanent installations.
- Threaded bushing with external threads that cuts its own internal threads into a pre-drilled hole.
- Creates a permanent, wear-resistant, and strong machine thread in materials such as aluminum, brass, cast iron, and plastics, without the need for a pre-tapped hole.
- Used for strengthening materials, providing durable fastening points for machine screws, and repairing damaged threads.
- Provides a strong wear and vibration resistant thread. Use of installation tool recommended.
- Low volumes can be installed by winding in with a bolt through the threaded centre. Large volumes can be installed with hand installation tools (Sold Seperately)
- Hole sizes are reference only. Can variey on batchs. Optimum hole size is to be determinded through experimentation.
- A 60o countersink is required for flush mounting.
- Use with plastics, light metal alloys or hard wood. Standard made from 303 stainless steel. Quantity orders can also be supplied in Brass or 316 Stainless
